Flora Haiku

early morning rain

rhoddies weeping in the sun –

summer on the Quay

parched little flower

survives beside a meadow

where it never rains

rainbows of color

along the wet city streets

April greets the buds

cherry blossoms fall

otters chase the white petals –

snow on the water

magnolias in bloom

a green island in the mist –

Japanese garden

winter’s cloak is gone

cherry trees fill nose and eyes –

a blossom delight

single lone crocus

learn what the daffodils do

hide from the flurries
